Porto Scoutari Romantic Hotel and Suites, Patmos

by ElenaSergeeva

For those looking to visit Patmos over the summer when the sun is out and the Aegean Sea is sparkling, there isn’t a better place to stay than a hotel overlooking the sea. Porto Scoutari Romantic Hotel and Suites enjoys a prime location, majestic gardens and staggering views of the ever-impressive  Meloi Bay.

Porto Scoutari Romantic Hotel and Suites on Patmos

A small luxury resort, nestled in luscious gardens of palm trees and plants, is a perfect island getaway. A blend of whitewashed architecture and aristocratic charm, Porto Scoutari Romantic Hotel and Suites has been designed with utmost love and attention to detail by its passionate owner, Elina Scoutari. The lady of the house was there to greet us and take care of us throughout our stay. Mrs Scoutari ensures that every guest feels right at home.

The story of the hotel is quite impressive, although Patmos is not an island where she was born but rather a place she grew in love with. Some stories of love are destined to be.

Having established and operated successful tourism businesses in the United States, Elina Scoutari decided to return to her homeland Greece and to build a larger house where she would welcome her guests over and over again.

The most impressive part of the resort besides the glorious swimming pool which dominates the front part of the hotel, is the reception area which resembles a precious museum where Elina Scoutari displays a collection of genuine antiques, grandfather clocks, nautical paintings and authentic ship collectibles which she inherited from her family.

Romantic guest rooms and suites

Four poster canopy beds, beautifully carved wooden furniture and pieces of art are just a few of the highlights of this majestic resort hotel. Staying at Porto Scoutari Romantic Hotel and Suites you are up for a divine holiday experience.

My two friends and I stayed at a spacious Junior Suite — number 21 the Kastelorizo.

The guest room features two double beds which are separated with a wall, a couch and a dressing table. There is also a Jacuzzi shower in the room and a separate bathroom with a shower.

The view opens up to a small terrace where you can sit and relax while enjoying captivating sea views.

Breakfast at 12 Island Bistro

Breakfast is served at the 12 Island Bistro located at the main building next to the reception area overlooking the pool and the sea.

There is also an indoor dining area where guests may enjoy a selection of salads and light snacks prepared using local and organic ingredients. It is also an ideal spot to enjoy a drink listening to the sound of soft romantic music.

For breakfast there was a selection of cold cuts, fresh vegetables, bacon and eggs as well as cereals. Fantastic fresh made cheese pies and homemade cake are definitely a must-try.

Location

Guests staying at Porto Scoutari Romantic Hotel and Suites will enjoy a zen holiday amidst lush gardens where the hotel’s mascot Aris, a beautiful parrot has made it his home for the last 20 years.

The resort is located only a kilometre from Skala — the port of Patmos and the numerous cafes and shops. If you would like to spend the day on the beach there is Meloi bay which is just a walking distance from the hotel or visit one of the numerous beautiful beaches of Patmos.
